All foreign citizens visiting Russia, need to have a valid Russian visa to enter the country. A Russian visa is a special document either stamped to your passport or issued on a separate paper, that grants you a permit to enter the Russian Federation and stay in the country for a specified period of time.
Business visa is for those who come to Russia for business purposes like exploring the business opportunities in Russia, establishing business contacts, etc. But since this type of visa allows longer stays, multiple entries and other beneficiaries, it can also be used by ordinary travelers, who need more flexibility.
A business Russian visa can be issued for 1 month, 3 months, 6 months or 12 months, and be either single-, double- or multiple entry. It takes approximately the same time for the consulate to issue this kind of visa as for a tourist visa, but a business visa is slightly more expensive.
Here is the way of obtaining a Russian business visa.
Step 1: Getting an invitation from the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, or its Regional Representative Offices, or from an authorized Russian host organization (provided by parallel 60)
Step 2: Getting a Visa (you do it yourself in your country)
You receive the invitation from us and then submit it together with other documents to the Russian consulate and apply for a visa. You will most likely need the original of the invitation, but please double check with the nearest Russian Embassy/Consulate (A list of Russian Embassies and Consulates is HERE). If you do require the original, you will have to pay extra fee for express mail (not included in the price of the invitation). Delivery to USA and Europe by FedEx, DHL is approximately 2000 RUB, depending on how urgently you need it. It usually takes 3-5 days for you to receive the invitation.
